Bass Recital in Georgia!

March 7th, 2011

Hi Georgia and Tennessee folks!  I added a late date recital to my calender at Dalton State College, in Georgia, not far from Chattanooga.  It will be 1/3 classical, (that’s right, standard rep for a change!) 1/3 crossover and 1/3 Amplified looping madness.  I’ll be performing with pianist Angela Arthur and it promises to be a good time!

Come up and say “howdy!”

Looking forward to a fun night of bass!!

Drone Files

October 12th, 2010

I have uploaded some drone files to the site.  Play these in the background, looped (in Quicktime, or some other player) while you practice your scales, etudes and pieces.  They are great for improving intonation.

Here is a link to the files:

Use them and enjoy better intonation!

New batch of bow hooks arrived!

October 4th, 2010

For those of you who have been waiting, we just got in a new batch of bow hooks! Although the batch is small, I am happy to say we are now able to fill those orders that have been on hold. Thanks to everyone for their patience. We are still looking for a new manufacturer who can keep our cost low (and therefore the retail price of the hooks) so if you know of a manufacturer who can work with stainless steel, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Thanks to everyone for supporting our ANTI-QUIVER campaign!

Teaching at WVU-Morgantown Fall 2010

August 30th, 2010

I am pleased to announce that I will be serving as Sabbatical replacement for the esteemed Dr. Andrew Kohn this Fall. (Fall 2010 ONLY!)  While Dr. Kohn delves into the music of Allan Blank, I will be working with his bass students at West Virginia University in Morgantown. (Fall 2010 only) I look forward to meeting some new bassists this week!

Also to note: Dr. Kohn will also be our guest at Shenandoah Conservatory Thursday Sept. 2 at 7 pm in Goodson Hall! Come out!

Even though the WVU studio is robust, I will still have an open hour here and there on the days I am in town. If you are in the Morgantown area and want to play for me, contact me here and we can try and set something up. Otherwise, I look forward to deeply investigating the local coffee houses!
