Upright/DoubleBasses: Classical/jazz/recording: 300 year old by an unkown maker in the Viennese tradition. The bass was formerly owned by Misha Krutz of the Kansas City Symphony who brought the instrument to America from Russia in the 1970's. He bought the instrument from the repairman of the Bolshoi Theatre, who obtained the instrument from the government collection. The 2006 recording GADAHA was recorded on a 1957 Roth hybrid. Rockabilly/Amplified venues: Travel issues and some types of performances make using my 300 year old Italian bass stressful, and dangerous for the instrument. As a result, I have recently teamed up with Michigan based Guarneri House to develop the ultimate touring basses on the planet. The ultimate in playability, with a contemporary bent on styling and studiness needed for all your pschobilly wildness. Watch both our sites for information as we move forward. Bows: I play exclusively on Henk te Hietbrink bows. For more information visit Silvio Dalla Torre's site. Strings: Upright and Electric information coming soon Upright/DoubleBass pickups: Information coming soon Electric Basses: Information coming soon. Amplification: Information coming soon. Miscellany: Information coming soon. |
